Mining areas are in remote and rural areas within its ecosystem. It operates days and nights to fulfill the demand of the world. Therefore, automation in the mining industry is not only a trendy technology. It is about efficiency, safety, and environmentally friendly.
In the will of making great things happen, Ecotron is recently collaborating with one of the heavy equipment manufacturers in their autonomous mining truck project.
In this project, Ecotron introduced the Autonomous Driving Control Unit (ADCU) to the mining trucks. Ecotron ADCU is a powerful autonomous driving domain controller, integrated with sensors like LiDAR, millimeter-wave radar, camera, and available V2X connectivity. These state-of-the-art technologies and Ecotron’s algorithms, make it possible for the self-driving mining truck to perform localization, perception, prediction, planning, and control. With the help from low latency 5G networks, our technology allows the fleet commander to take over the vehicle whenever it is needed.
Moreover, Ecotron ADCU is based on Black Sesame A1000 and Infineon TC297, it can support up to Level 4 autonomous driving. Ecotron ADCU is the most stable and mature control unit with an ASIL-D rating on the market.
