Vehicle Control Unit (VCU) Customization

Your VCU is the heart of your project, and it should be built around your needs. We work closely with engineering teams to tailor VCUs for a wide range of applications—automotive chassis controllers, central gateway controllers for electric and autonomous vehicles, or specialized fuel cell controllers.

Safety is never an afterthought. By selecting microprocessors capable of ASIL D safety levels, implementing multiple layers of torque monitoring, and designing hardware redundancy, our VCUs are ready for rigorous functional safety requirements. They also support AUTOSAR-based software architectures and OS development, and they integrate seamlessly with our software toolchain—EcoCoder, EcoCAL, and EcoFlash—making model-based design, calibration, and system integration smoother.

Small modifications? We handle those too. Whether it’s removing CAN buses, adjusting terminal resistors, or tweaking input resistors, we can often accommodate customer-specific variations without a full PCB redesign.

Autonomous Driving Control Unit (ADCU) Customization

Ecotron also offers customization on the ADCU product lineup. Our ADCUs bring the computational power needed for modern autonomous applications. Platforms like Nvidia Xavier, Nvidia Orin, TI TDA4, and Black Sesame provide strong processing capabilities, while our functional safety design ensures ISO26262 compliance and ASIL-C readiness.

Software Flexibility Built Around Your Needs

Each controller comes along with basic and application software. The basic software is the “operating system” for your controller and it runs everything underneath. Here at Ecotron we can adapt it to your needs. For example, a preious client using our ADCU needed the ability to flash via CANR0 and CANR1, which wasn’t available by default. Our team updated the Basic Software to make it possible, ensuring the controller worked exactly as required.

Application Software is like the “apps” on top of that system. Ecotron provides full support if needed and one of our biggest advantages is our cost-effective customization. Plus access to demos and examples for all controllers via EcoCoder, which supports our entire controller lineup.
